The Mondrian Doha Hotel

The Mondrian Doha in Qatar is a 5-star destination Hotel, designed in collaboration with the world-renowned Dutch designer Marcel Wanders and South West Architecture. Mondrian Doha is the first hotel in the Middle East. The Luxe Hotel is located near the West Bay Lagoon and Lusail City. an area popular for its restaurants, nightlife and where the Lusail Iconic Stadium will host the opening matches of the 2022 FIFA World Cup. 

The Hotel Mondrian Doha interior is filled with a kaleidoscope of patterns exhibiting innovative materials and techniques, each space possessing its own identity, allowing guests to form a collection of stories woven with a main theme that runs throughout. The Hotel features 211 bedrooms and 59 suites over 24 floors, a spectacular 2000 square metre ballroom with its own 24K gold elevator, separate spas for men and women, 12 treatment rooms, a private couples treatment room, a heated garden, relaxation rooms with heated daybeds, culinary venues, and a traditional Turkish Hammam.

Aldo Rossi (born 1931), one of the most influential architects during the period 1972-1988, has accomplished the unusual feat of achieving international recognition in three distinct areas: theory, drawing, and architecture. In 1966 Aldo Rossi published the book The Architecture of the City, which subsequently was translated into several languages and enjoyed enormous international success. Spurning the then fashionable debates on style, Aldo Rossi instead criticized the lack of understanding of the city in current architectural practice. Helmut Newton, a feckless, un-scholarly boy grew up to transform fashion photography.  Probably the most imitated and controversial fashion photographer of his time, Newton earned the nickname King of Kink as well as a fortune. “If a photographer says he is not a voyeur, he is an idiot,”  Newton once said.  His erotic and dream like images were like a peep through a key hole, spied moments of a heightened reality. Architect Marcel Breuer

Designer and Architect, Marcel Breuer (1902 - 1981) can be regarded as one of the most influential and important designers of the 20th century. As a young student at the Bauhaus Weimar, Breuer, who was Hungarian by birth, caught the eye with various furniture designs inspired by the Dutch De Stijl group. Marc Quinn Archaeology of Art

The Archaeology of Art sculptures are based on the forms of real shells - the most perfect pre-existing sculptural 'readymades' in our natural world. The found forms are enlarged using a 3D printer and cast in aluminium, concrete, stainless steel or bronze. Marc Quinn polishes the inside of the shells to a high sheen, contrasting with their heavily textured surfaces. Like the rings on a tree, these surfaces tell of the age and history of the object, like some kind of found structural diagram, whereas the sculpture’s highly polished, reflective insides remain in the present moment, continually reflecting the present.
