Jellyfish Vases by Nendo

Image
Milan Design Week 2017 The 30 vases of various sizes were placed in a 1800 mm aquarium filled with water that float like jellyfish in the water. The strength and direction of the water’s current was carefully adjusted so that they undulated moderately. The vases are made from ultrathin transparent silicon that has been dyed twice to give the impression that what is floating in the water is but a gradated silhouette of transparent colors. The Jellyfish vases by Nendo redefines the traditional role of flower, water, and vase by making the water inconspicuous with ensemble of soft-pedalled flowers and vases floating inside the filled water. π’Ÿπ‘œπ“‚π‘’π“ƒπ’Ύπ“†π“Šπ‘’ π‘€π‘œπ“‡π’Ά π’Ύπ“ˆ 𝒢𝓃 π‘’π“ƒπ“‹π’Ύπ“‡π‘œπ“ƒπ“‚π‘’π“ƒπ“‰ π“Œπ’½π‘’π“‡π‘’ π’Ύπ“ƒπ“ƒπ‘œπ“‹π’Άπ“‰π’Ύπ“‹π‘’ π’Ήπ‘’π“ˆπ’Ύπ‘”π“ƒπ‘’π“‡π“ˆ 𝒢𝓃𝒹 π’Έπ“‡π’Άπ’»π“‰π“ˆπ“‚π‘’π“ƒ π“Šπ“ƒπ’Ύπ“‰ π“‰π‘œ π“…π“‡π‘’π“ˆπ‘’π“ƒπ“‰ 𝓉𝒽𝑒 π’Ήπ‘’π“ˆπ’Ύπ‘”π“ƒπ“ˆ 𝒢𝓃𝒹 π‘œπ’·π’Ώπ‘’π’Έπ“‰π“ˆ 𝓉𝒽𝒢𝓉 𝒹𝑒𝒻𝒾𝓃𝑒 𝓉𝒽𝑒 πŸ€πŸ£π“ˆπ“‰ π’Έπ‘’π“ƒπ“‰π“Šπ“‡π“Ž.

Black Noir

Since the beginning of time, black has a lot to divulge, it expressed mourning, poverty, denial, revolt and it exalted the avant-garde and haute-couture.   Both rive gauche and rive droite, from lacerated and leather, to the perfection of the little black dress, from brutal bondage clothing to the monks’ modern hoods, from the black jacket to black coffee, black made a lot of ink flow.   Black is able to express love and romanticism as well as hate and racism, in equal proportion and with the same ardor.   Black is seen in lace of a domination mask, veil of seduction and burka of discretion.  Yet, behind dark veils hides a myriad of attitudes, divergent tastes and disparate characters.  In a chaotic century, which still cannot find its way, it seems that there is only one way out. One direction to take.  We have to merge opposites and erase contrasts to embrace and exploit the ideas of cross-breeds from various disciplines to finally bridge the gap between the two brains. Tableware as Sensorial Stimuli

New thinking pushes innovation beyond the expected in today's world of art and design.   A return to primal and intense, an experience that possesses the kind of experiential knowledge that is gained through an all-encompassing and multi-sensory feeling.  The rapid rise of synaesthesia is evidence of this desire.  The work of Jinhyun Jeon is inspired by desire. A graduate from the Design Academy of Eindhoven, Jinhyun Jeon created a project entitled 'Tableware as Sensorial Stimuli,' seeking to infuse the daily ritual of eating with the phenomenon of synaesthesia.  The project is a set of cutlery in which each piece is designed to engage you in further senses than simply taste.  By exploring synaesthesia through design, the artist hopes to enhance the role of tableware and cutlery, enriching the experience of eating by cross-wiring and activating multiple senses through a combination of temperature, color, texture, volume and form. Jinhyun Jeon serves to create jub
